According to the Litter Index, an impartial evaluation of the
city's cleanliness, Philadelphia's streets were
cleaner in 2003 than 2002. To spread the good news, the city
hired Sharavsky Communications to stage a Keep Philadelphia
Beautiful awareness rally.
The revival-atmosphere event generated TV coverage (no small
feat during a political season) and became the launching pad
for the popular “Yes We Can Can,” multi-media PSA
campaign.
